CRIADO team volunteers recently headed out to White Rock Lake for the “Love of the Lake” clean up.“dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of White Rock Lake Park as an urban oasis.” Click on the photo above to launch the photo album.This community service experience is especially important to CRIADO as our Vision of this volunteer opportunity is the same as theirs: “to ensure those who enjoy White Rock Lake Park actively engage in service to maintain the environment for future generations.” The CRIADO volunteers had a great time and they were amazed by the number of passing cyclists and joggers who enthusiastically voiced their appreciation for the clean-up efforts; it became obvious that the community cared deeply about the lake. Thank you to all who attended!

CRIADO is helping to “Sack Summer Hunger” this year by joining a food distribution program through Metrocrest Services to bring groceries to underprivileged families in the local community. On July 2nd, our volunteer teams participated in delivering the groceries to local families in need. The CRIADO crew teamed up and managed multiple routes that morning. Great job team! “The experience was enlightening and humbling, especially after delivering the first few bags of food and realizing how appreciative these families were.”                                                 -Dana Henry

Billy Clark and Patrick Comadore from the CRIADO Subsurface Utility Engineering department both ranked first in their divisions this weekend at the Internatio236nal Utility Locate Rodeo. During the twelve-minute competition, the two SUE-perstars used radio frequency devices to locate subsurface utilities at the University of Texas in Arlington. Final scores were determined by a panel of experts based on completion time, and accuracy. Way to go guys!

The Criado team extends a warm welcome to our summer interns, Armando Delgado, Joshua Porizek, Ana Cervantes and Sammie Casas. Armando joins Criado as part of the Dallas Mayor’s Intern Fellows Program. Sammie joins through the Irma Lerma Rangel Young Women’s Leadership Program. Joshua is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University. Sammie and Armando share a similar upbringing; both  students were raised in families with strong entrepreneurial backgrounds. They were taught from a young age to appreciate the value of hard work.“I learned early on that the workforce is competitive. If I don’t commit to showing up on time every morning, someone else will gladly take my place.” -Armando Sammie has a part time job at Steel City Pops, a gourmet popsicle shop in Lower Greenville. When she is not working at Criado, or Steel City, she is donating her time to LULAC (League of United Latin American Citizens). Sammie is passionate about encouraging the local Latin community to further their career aspirations, seek higher education, and pursue leadership roles. She is currently talking to Vanderbilt University regarding her post-graduation goals. Armando’s future aspirations include attending…

CRIADO employees have been busy bees giving back to the community. Team members coordinated several community service events in June including a clothing drive for St. Vincent de Paul and participating in the Sack Summer Hunger Program for families in need in the DFW Metroplex.

On April 13, the CRIADO Safety Team performed their first fire evacuation drill. Administrator Dana Henry successfully rounded up employees on the west side of the building, while Project Manager Wesley Norris gathered team members from the east. All personnel were safely evacuated down the two stairwells on either side of the building. Both groups met in the south parking lot on the far side of the car ports. CRIADO received praise from the building management and maintenance for an organized and orderly fire drill, and for being proactive in the safety of our employees.
